SHADOW PROCESSION
Sometimes things go completely wrong in the creative process, and it becomes clear why the order in which your work is structured is so important.
I colored this ink drawing (fig. 1) with watercolor pencil (Derwent Inktense) and watercolor paint (Winsor & Newton). Finally, I wanted to color the background with pastel chalk, and to avoid staining the colored drawing, I covered everything with masking tape.
...And then it all went wrong.
By removing the masking tape, I removed large parts of the illustration (fig. 2).
I recreated the illustration (and made some adjustments to the composition at the same time) in the following order:
1. Pencil sketch
2. Masking with Pedeo drawing eraser (fig. 3)
3. Watercolor paint for the background
4. Removing the mask
5. Ink
6. Further coloring with watercolor pencil and paint and some adjustments in Adobe Photoshop (fig. 4).
